Dr. Ananthula will present her research findings on the association and prevalence of venous thromboembolism in cancer patients with COVID. Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a condition where a blood clot forms in a vein. There are two forms -- deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). Complications of VTE include long-term damage to the valves in the vein, as well as death.
